Field Sales Representative

Join our exciting international bioelectronics and instrumentation Products Company in a Field Sales Manager position this exciting sales position in our successful company. We are currently looking to fill territories in the US and Europe. We are expanding our industry coverage to Pharmaceutical and we are looking for a pharmaceutical sales representative with established contacts in the industry.
In this role, you will work your territory to introduce Triangle BioSystems and our products to customers specializing in our current customer base and clinical drug testing.
Major responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
• Managing a broadly-defined geographic area including distribution management; Strategic market planning and developing customer relationships;
• Managing a sales plan to meet all financial requirements with a thorough business acumen and understanding;
• Manage a variety of customer types from corporate office to test facility locations; Devise, recommend and discuss market and product development strategies with headquarters team;
• Provide a technical interface with customers;
• Participate in various industry associations and organizations
Reporting to the Vice President of Sales & Marketing, this position is responsible for supporting the company’s growth objectives, as well as, assisting in the technical support of the company’s product to new and existing customers. The successful candidate will lead Sales in the representation of TBSI’s technology and products to new and prospective customers. In the role of Field Sales Manager, the successful candidate will apply their knowledge of products, pricing, competitive positioning, and application knowledge to generate new revenue for the Company.
The Company will rely on this position for an in-depth technical understanding of its product offerings, as it relates to the Pharmaceutical industry our customers' applications, and the TBSI value proposition. The successful candidate will use this understanding to assist in all aspects of driving growth. The position will also be relied upon to technically support installations of new customers.
Essential Duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Support the Company’s Headquarters Team in meeting or exceeding the Company’s sales objectives.
- Use product and industry knowledge to expand the Company’s existing target accounts list. Participate in the development of new target customers and product application within the pharmaceutical market.
- Provide customers with technical support during installation and field commissioning.
- Perform updates on the company’s technology, product pricing, and quotations as required.
- Provide technical feedback in the selection, implementation, development and competitive positioning of the Company’s products for all potential applications.
- Establish field trials which support the Company’s sales development efforts.
- Assist Marketing in creating case studies as new applications of TBSI’s products are proven successful.
- Build and support key business relationships with customers, partners and trade alliances (channel partners, consultants, etc) which foster new sales.
- Position the Company’s products early in the project phase by working closely with marketing, engineering, end-users and third party partnerships to ensure specification and/or purchase.
- Drive the quotation and proposal process – to include establishing product specification requirements for pricing and budgetary estimates.
- Respond to technical questions regarding the Company’s products and solutions.
- Participate in customer presentations, discussions, negotiations, and trade conferences to ensure industry visibility.
- Participate in the development and execution of Company technical training programs, coaching and customer mentoring.
- Use your in-depth understanding of TBSI’s products and target applications to help meet and/or exceed customer expectations.
- Support TBSI Marketing in communicating industry-wide trends which drive TBSI’s local market and industry competition.
Qualifications
1. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's of Science degree in neurosciences or related pharmaceutical field; seven to ten years related sales experience. A strong background in the pharmaceutical industry is also preferred.
2. STRONG COMMUNICATION AND LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients and customers. English is a requirement.
3. INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE: Experience in the Pharmaceuticals or Clinical Drug Discovery, coupled with, experience and knowledge of small animal neural testing and an understanding of testing requirements is considered a plus.
4. OTHER: The individual applying for this position must be able to grasp technical details, be computer literate, proven ability to interact with internal and external customers, problems solving skills, and have experience in the pharmaceutical industry. There is a great earnings potential in this commission-based position. This position may require up to 20% travel and the individual must live in an area populated with pharmaceutical companies.
